Real estate
professionals report increased interest in Central Florida properties among
Middle Eastern investors since Emirates Airline launched direct flights between
Dubai and Orlando almost six months ago. James Schumaker, who runs
international sales for a vacation home development in Reunion for Encore
Capital Management, told the Orlando Sentinel that, as a result of the airline
flights, “the Middle East is one of those markets where we are seeing an
increase in buyers.”
Robbie McEwan, a first
vice president of brokerage firm CBRE, recently sold 50 acres in Central Florida to a group of
Egyptian investors. He told the Orlando Sentinel the direct flights between
Orlando and Dubai have raised interest in Central Florida real estate
among Middle
Eastern investors: “We’ve definitely
seen a direct result of the flights.” [Orlando
